Ichiro Ikeda earned the Master in Construction degree from Nihon University, Tokyo, in 1967 and the MSCE from the University of Washington in 1969. He began his work with the Seattle firm then known as Skilling, Helle, Christiansen, and Robertson in 1969, becoming a Senior Associate. Since retiring from the firm in 2008, he has done private consulting with American companies working on building design for Japan.
