SEAW Snow Load Analysis for Washington, 2nd edition
The SEAW Snow Load Analysis for Washington, 2nd edition is a 1995 update of the original 1975 publication. The second edition provides a practical understanding of snow load design for buildings and structures, with an in-depth commentary on the intent of UBC provisions. This edition provides a large color map for each half of the state, with normalized ground snow load isolines and elevation contours to help readily determine the ground snow load anywhere in the state. Cities, towns, counties, roads and various bodies of water are shown to provide convenient reference.
In addition to text on the sources and uses of the data, the manual reproduces, with permission from the ICBO, the 1994 UBC Snow Load Design Appendix. Also included are various sample problems, tabulation of recommended ground snow loads for many cities and towns, and tabulation of the actual snow information that was available at the time of publication.
Supplemental Design Examples for the Snow Load Analysis available online
These companion documents follow the format of the examples published in the Snow Load Analysis for Washington, 2nd edition, with respect to example number, page number, location within the state, structure type and geometry, but have been designed using the criteria set for in SEI/ASCE 7-02 and SEI/ASCE 7-05.
