Speakers

Jeff Ferris
Jeff Ferris graduated from Purdue University in 1977 and began his career in synthetic fiber reinforced concrete in 1984, which marked the initial introduction of synthetic fibers into the concrete industry. He has been employed as a “Fiber Concrete Specialist” by Euclid Chemical since 2011. Jeff is past President of the San Diego ACI Chapter, and currently Education Committee Co-Chairman for the Southern California Chapter ACI Chapter, and an active member of the Concrete “New Materials & Methods” Subcommittee for “Greenbook” (Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction).

Amir Bonakdar, PhD, PE
Amir Bonakdar has a Master’s degree in structural engineering from the University of Tehran and a PhD degree from Arizona State University. Amir’s academic and professional life has been dedicated to fiber-reinforced concrete (FRC) and concrete durability. He joined Euclid Chemical in 2013 and has been an active member of ACI, PCI, ASTM and SEA. He is a subcommittee chair for ACI 544 (FRC) and is leading a new ACI design guide on FRC. He is involved with ACI 201 (concrete durability) and ACI 360 (design of slabs on ground).

Bob Swan
Bob Swan has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Eastern Michigan University and received an MBA (marketing focus) from Baldwin Wallace (Ohio). He has been with Euclid Chemical for over 25 years and has over 30 years of concrete industry repair and restoration experience. He is a long time member of the ACI and has an extensive background in the formulation and application of concrete related materials used in extreme high wear environments. He currently serves on several national committees for the International Concrete Repair Institute. Bob is a current member of the Phoenix ICRI Chapter.
